The Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation announces the recipients of its 2008 Exponent Award, which celebrates visionary nonprofit leadership and includes a $100,000 cash award for the recipient’s organization.

A skilled, committed, and diverse pool of next generation leaders would like to be nonprofit executive directors in the future, according to a new national survey of nearly 6,000 next generation leaders.

The Meyer Foundation was awarded a Gold Award for its annual report in the 2007 MarCom Awards competition, with honorable mention for writing and design.

Barbara Lang is president and chief executive officer of the DC Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining the DC Chamber, Ms. Lang was vice president of corporate services and chief procurement officer for Fannie Mae and served in several management positions at IBM.

Kristen Conte, the Meyer Foundation’s Vice President for Finance and Administration, received The Lifetime Achievement Award at the Nonprofit CFO of the Year Awards Luncheon, hosted by Tate & Tryon and West, Lane & Schlager at the Mayflower Hotel on November 1.

The Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation announces the recipients of its 2007 Exponent Award. The leaders represent nonprofit organizations working in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia with budgets ranging from just under $1 million to more than $5 million. Meyer selected the five awardees from among 30 nominees.

The Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation, a private foundation in Washington, DC, announces that it has elected new members Deborah Ratner Salzberg, president of Forest City Washington, Inc., and Jim Sandman, senior partner in Arnold & Porter’s toxic tort and product liability practice, to its Board of Directors.

The Meyer Foundation received the 2007 Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation Community Partnership Award with the Center for Nonprofit Advancement and The Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington.

The Meyer Foundation has received two gold awards for excellence in communications from the 2007 Wilmer Shields Rich Awards program.

The Meyer Foundation received an award for Excellence in Service to the Arts at the 22nd Annual Mayor’s Arts Awards held Monday, March 19, 2007, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
