Meyer Names Janice Thomas as New Vice President for Finance and Operations

August 21, 2012

Ms. Thomas is currently director of finance and administration at the Consumer Health Foundation in Washington, DC, a position she has held since 2009. Prior to joining Consumer Health, she was chief financial officer at the National Housing Conference and at the Freddie Mac Foundation.

A certified public accountant, Ms. Thomas has internal and external audit experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, as well as experience managing technology and human resources in a variety of nonprofit settings. In addition to an undergraduate degree in accounting from Hampton University, she holds a master’s degree in social work from Smith College in Northampton, Mass.

“We are delighted to welcome Janice to the Meyer Foundation,” says Meyer President & CEO Julie Rogers. “She brings an uncommon and invaluable combination of skills and experience. Beyond her finance, technology, and human resources background, Janice’s degree in social work gives her an additional perspective on the foundation’s work.”

Ms. Thomas succeeds Kristen Conte, who will retire from her post at the end of 2012 after nearly 14 years with the foundation. The Meyer Foundation engaged Slesinger Management Services to conduct the search that resulted in Ms. Thomas’s appointment.
