Dear Community Partners:
Before we enter 2025, I want to take some time to re-introduce myself as I have been entrusted once again to serve as Interim President & CEO of the Meyer Foundation. Drawing from my 11 years of experience at Meyer, serving most recently as Chief Operating Officer, it is my honor to reconnect with you all in this capacity as we continue to advance the mission and values that guide our work.
On behalf of the Foundation, I also want to say thank you.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to co-creating a region where everyone can belong and thrive. Thank you for your continued support of the Meyer Foundation in times of transition. Thank you for all that we will continue to do together to advance systems toward racial and economic justice in the Greater Washington community in the coming year and beyond.
In my video message above, I’m excited to share a few things to look out for from the Meyer Foundation in the year ahead.
Continuing the work: We are not changing the focus of our work. Based on strong input from our community of grantee partners and peers in philanthropy who generously participated in our 2024 strategic refresh process, and amid growing threats to our sector, region, and the people who call it home, Meyer will continue to invest in movements that seek to transform inequitable systems toward racial and economic justice. Through enhanced and expanded grantmaking offerings, we will continue showing up in support of our partners.
Implementing Meyer’s strategic refresh: Insights from community partners through our 2024 strategic refresh also highlighted the need for more convenings, simplified grant processes, and more opportunities for rapid response funding. Meyer will continue to develop and implement these strategies in 2025 and beyond. We can’t wait to share more with you about our strategy in 2025.
Marking 80 years of the Meyer Foundation: Throughout 2025, the Foundation will mark its 80th year in the region. We especially want to use this moment to recognize the incredible work of our grantee partners who are leading the work in our community. More to come!
As I mention in my video message, I also look forward to connecting with Meyer grantee partners across the region to better understand your work and your needs. Stay tuned for more information to connect via in-person and virtual meet-and-greets.
Our work to reimagine, recreate, and reform systems toward racial equity and justice continues.
