| Rick Moyers Bio [download] |
Rick Moyers is director of the Meyer Foundation's Nonprofit Sector Fund. Prior to joining the Meyer Foundation in November 2003, Mr. Moyers was executive director of the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations, a statewide coalition of more than 650 nonprofits that worked to strengthen Ohio's nonprofit sector. Before joining OANO, he spent seven at BoardSource (formerly the National Center for Nonprofit Boards), concluding his tenure as vice president for programs and services.
A long-time resident of the Washington area, Mr. Moyers holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia Union College and a master's degree from the University of Baltimore. He has served as a committee member for Independent Sector, United Way of Central Ohio, the First Nonprofit Unemployment Savings Program, and the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations' Standards for Excellence initiative. He currently serves on the board of Imagination Stage children's theater and chairs the local advisory committee for the Foundation Center's Washington, D.C., regional field office. Mr. Moyers is a frequent speaker and trainer on nonprofit management and leadership issues, and has written for The Chronicle of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Times. He co-authored A Snapshot of America's Nonprofit Boards, the first national nonprofit governance survey; Daring to Lead 2006, a national study of nonprofit executive directors; and The Nonprofit Chief Executive's Ten Basic Responsibilities, published by Board Source in 2006.
